What a lovely day we had for afternoon tea in the cafe at Valley Forge Flowers.   The children learned all about eye contact, how to make an introduction, handshakes and how to set the table.  Everyone sat up straight, smiled and enjoyed being confident and charming.

After the manners instruction, we were served the absolute best tea sandwiches. We had cucumber mint, Nutella with apricot jam, chicken salad and egg salad.  We learned how to eat a scone with clotted cream and lemon curd.  We practiced how to hold the tea cup and we now know we do not hold our pinkies out.  We all added a bit of sugar and milk to our tea which was served in tea cups from Italy and designed especially for Cafe Fleur. The cupcakes were by Dia Doce and the chocolate chip cookies were buttery, sweet and crunchy. The best in Wayne without a doubt.

At the end of the day we were full and polished with good manners.  We enjoyed meeting new people and many discovered the delight of afternoon tea.
